You’ve heard it before—Content is king!

What is content? Simply put-- Words!

No one knows this better than Jay Winchester, president of The Winchester Group, a Tampa-based copywriting company that “puts words to work” for a variety of clients, from Fortune 500 firms to local businesses.

Jay honed his writing talent “in the highly competitive world of freelance writing.” Now, at the helm of The Winchester Group, he provides services such as creative consulting, advertising copy, publicity materials, scripts for public speaking, and editing/proofreading assistance.

Jay Winchester’s diverse history in communications gives him a unique perspective on the power of words and their many applications. “I learned how to read with comic books,” Jay says of his early years, “and was writing poetry by age 11. I’ve always had an aptitude for communicating.”  continued

Stand 4 Something
Peter Marshall (no, not the host on Hollywood Squares; the former two-time Senate chaplain) once said, “Give to us clear vision that we may know where to stand and what to stand for - because unless we stand for something, we shall fall for anything.”

If we take an honest and uncompromising look at the world around us, it’s safe to say that we’ve fallen for more than a few things over the last three decades. In fact, the turn of economic events over the last year is down right astounding, given the supposed level of oversight, regulation and legislation intended to continued ...

Pursuing Virtues…Aha!!!
Pursue the right one and the other follows automatically.
There is an endless stream of words written on corporate websites extolling corporate values. The aim is to convince potential customers or investors that the company conducts its business according to these values. Typically, the lists include such qualities as integrity, service, quality, transparency and respect.

What is rare is the company that lists the virtues it pursues in the course of doing business. You probably find yourself thinking: “Values…virtues…what difference does it make which one my company pursues? It’s all good.” To be frank, that ain’t necessarily so. The essential difference between values and virtues stems from continued ...

The Biggest Game of All
Through All Sports Community Service, Tyrone Keys helps area athletes level the playing field in the game of life.

Albert Einstein once observed the condition of the world around him and remarked, “It is every man’s obligation to put back into the world at least the equivalent of what he takes out of it.” Tyrone Keys, the Founder and Director of All Sports Community Service, a 501(3)c organization providing opportunities for student/athletes to attain personal enrichment through higher education, may not be aware of Einstein’s continued ...

Row, Row, Row Your Boat
More than a great workout, participating in crew teaches valuable life-lessons to future entrepreneurs.

The peaceful, placid waters of the Hillsborough River are a beautiful natural resource, one of which many young people in Tampa Bay take advantage by participating in the sport of rowing, sometimes referred to as crew. Rowing boats, known as shells, young men and women sitting at the oars, training for competition, are frequently seen gliding gracefully on the water, almost as if the river were glass. They are becoming a crew, learning valuable lessons about their sport, their mates and themselves. They are also learning valuable lessons to be used later in life, although few of them realize or remember that as they continued ...

Animated Behavior
Kevin Scolaro and Tri-Dimensional Studios bring Pixar-quality animation to Tampa Bay.
By Jay Winchester

The first thing that strikes you about Kevin Scolaro’s office isn’t the color of the walls or the sleek office furniture. It’s not even Kevin himself, although he wears the Silicon Valley look well. No, it’s not any of those things.

It’s the toys.

Scolaro has a serious jones for toys. And why shouldn’t he, given that he runs a top-flight animation studio and world-class animation training center here in the heart of Tampa? Yes, you read that right. Tampa. Not Orlando. Not Hollywood. Not LucasFilm’s Industrial Light & Magic in San Francisco’s Presidio district. Not Pixar’s toney continued ...

We Can Learn A Lot From This Woman
Maja Kazazic and Vela Business Solutions help businesses find
profits through improved processes.

These are difficult times for many in our country. The economy is down, foreclosures are high and jobless rates are rising. Be it a recession or a depression, it can be downright depressing...depending on your perspective.

Perspective is something that Maja Kazazic (pronounced My-ya Ka-za-zitch) uses to drive the success of her business, Vela Business Solutions. The company’s mission involves helping businesses identify sources of waste or inefficiency while suggesting affordable solutions eliminating wasted time while increasing productivity. “Ultimately, our aim is to increase client profitability,” she says. “In this economy, it is critical that a continued ...

Our hope is that our focus on each of these corporate objectives will draw others into a lifelong relationship with Jesus Christ, and enable them to enter the Kingdom of God as His children.
